Hopes and Dreams

April 14, 2026

Let us build a house where love can dwell and all can safely live,
a place where saints and children tell how hearts learn to forgive.
Built of hopes and dreams and visions, rock of faith and vault of grace;
here the love of Christ shall end divisions:
All are welcome, all are welcome, all are welcome in this place.

Verse1 of Sunday’s opening hymn: “All Are Welcome”

We made it, one hundred years! This weekend is going to be a wonderful party to celebrate all that God has done in, through and among all of us at First Evangelical, and now, with Holy Cross and all the ministries onsite. Are you excited? I am!!!

I talked with Bishop Selbo yesterday. He’s arriving Saturday and will be sharing a gospel message with us on Sunday morning. Our guest painting artist, Paul Oman, stopped by today to get things set up for the two paintings he will do, one on Saturday and one on Sunday morning.

The many repairs and recent improvements have the church looking wonderful. The centennial committee worked hard to make this a special weekend. The decorations are in place, the food and speakers and music are ready, we just need all of you to come!

As we look back over the last one hundred years, we will hear the stories, share memories, and sing about God’s grace. We also have the opportunity to look forward, into the future. We are already making memories! We are already changing lives with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Praise God!

In Christ;
Pastor Dan
