Christian Funeral

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

In times of loss and grief, it is important for us to hear words of God's promise and receive the support of a caring community. If you have lost a loved one, Our First Lutheran Church offers our condolences to you and your family, and we pray for your healing and comfort.

A funeral is a time for family, friends, and community to come together to offer support to one another and hear the gospel proclaimed. Every funeral is both a time of mourning for the departed and a service of worship to the God who makes us all, and who offers us refuge at the end of our life.

Making Funeral Arrangements with First Lutheran

Normally, the funeral home of your choice will make the arrangements with the church; all you need to do is ask them where you would like the service to be held, and they will work out all the details with us. If you choose not to use a funeral director service, the family will need to take care of the arrangements after meeting with the pastor.
