Through our Children & Youth Ministry, we introduce young people to Jesus Christ, educate them in the Scriptures and the Catechism, and nurture their relationship with God. Our goal is for young people to boldly confess Jesus Christ and know that they have everlasting salvation as the Word and promise of God declares.
“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” - Luke 18:16
Children’s Messages
During our Sunday 10:00 am worship, elementary-aged children are invited to come forward for a special Gospel message with the pastor. The message includes an object or activity related to the day’s lesson, along with a treat to take back to their seats. This time is for children in kindergarten through 5th grade. Parents are welcome to join their children.
Preschool and Elementary Children
During the school year, elementary-aged children are excused after the Children’s Message to participate in our Sunday School program, F.L.A.M.E. (Faithful Learners And Missionary Explorers). Children will take part in an exciting Bible activity with our leaders and return after the sermon.
Parents are encouraged to join FLAME by volunteering for special events or assisting with crafts and lessons. Visitors are welcome but must check in with the leaders to provide contact information, ensuring the safety and care of all children. During the holidays, we host special events such as an Easter Egg Hunt and a Christmas Pageant.
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
Vacation Bible School
We are planning a Vacation Bible School in the summer of 2025, working together with our shared ministry partner churches. This program aims to reach out to our community and give elementary kids an opportunity to learn more about Jesus and the Gospel.
Middle and High School Youth
Jesus says, “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” - John 15:4-5
First Lutheran partners with Youth For Christ (YFC) of Palm Beach County to provide excellent faith-based activities for youth in our area, including their Campus Life for Middle School and High School, Catalyst, and City Life programs.
First Lutheran volunteers serve meals to the kids on Fridays and assist with programming as needed. Youth For Christ utilizes the chapel, kitchen, fellowship hall, greenspace, and newly added outdoor basketball courts.
