Bread of Life

February 19, 2026

41 Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to his disciples to distribute to the people. He also divided the two fish among them all. 42 They all ate and were satisfied, 43 and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces of bread and fish. 44 The number of the men who had eaten was five thousand.   Mark 6:41-44

LENTEN SERIES

Next Wednesday, February 25th, join us for soup at 6:30 p.m., and a Bible study at 7:00 p.m., where we will begin our Lenten series on the Miracles of Jesus. To prepare, you can read through Mark 6:30-44 and Mark 8:1-13, which are the stories of Jesus feeding the 5000 and 4000.

In a short, dramatic video presentation, artist Paul Oman will bring to life these miracles as he paints them on a canvas, layer upon layer, scene after scene. The story is told from the perspective of the disciple Philip, along with music and sound effects to help you experience it yourself.

Come discover how this miracle demonstrates Jesus’ role as both God and Messiah, and teaches us to trust Him with what little we have, rather than focusing on the limitations of our resources.

PASTOR LUDDER PREACHING

This Sunday we have the special guests, Carsten “Judd” and Teresa Ludder. Pastor Ludder served First Evangelical as an interim pastor during a challenging transition in leadership, helping reshape the ministry and setting the stage for shared ministries and property rentals. Teresa also helped a lot with worship, running PowerPoints, music and communion. Pastor Ludder will be preaching as a part of our centennial anniversary celebrations this year. Judd recently accepted a new interim position at Christ Lutheran Church, St. Petersburg, FL.

I’m excited about all the anniversary activities and how we are connecting with people who have been touched by this ministry here over the last one hundred years. A special thank you to our anniversary committee, as they are organizing the events, preparing and serving in ways that make this a memorable year as we look back and look forward to another one hundred years.

We will see you Sunday for worship!

In Christ;
Pastor Dan
